After getting a new subclass for each class in the last few UAs, the latest one instead gives us variants and enhancements of existing features.
This really seems like the precursor to some kind of Players Handbook 2 (or 3, if you count Xanathar's. Maybe 4? I mean, Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide actually came with a lot of new subclasses, though several were repeated in Xanathar's.)
One of the clear trends was spellcasting versatility. Basically every class that has cantrips seems like it will be able to swap them out when they level up, similar to spells for classes that learn a set number like Warlocks or Bards.
There are several new Fighting Styles, with a few specific to certain classes (Paladins can take one that gives them Cleric cantrips.) Also, some of the ideas introduced in the revised Ranger from a few years ago have come back, like special animal companions that are easier to revive.
I'm convinced that there is a major supplement that will be announced before too long.
