Once again, Nerd Immersion has the scoop.
The Amazon page for Wild Beyond the Witchlight has given us some new details about the latest published adventure coming in the fall.
First off, we get the Witchlight Carnival and an adventure built around it and the Feywild "domain of delight" called Prismeer (um... is this the Feywild equivalent of the Domains of Dread?)
We're getting two new races: the Fairy and the Harengon, the latter of which is the previously UA-previewed Rabbitfolk. (The Feywild Hobgoblin might have gotten cut, but I also wonder if the Owlfolk will show up as Aven in the Strixhaven book.)
We're also getting two new backgrounds - the Feylost, for a character who grew up in the Feywild (one of the PCs in game with my Eldritch Knight would 100% fit that,) and the Witchlight Hand, for a member of the Witchlight Carnival.
Notably, the page says that all encounters in the adventure can be resolved without combat, which could be really cool. I think 5th Edition could potentially use more compelling rules than simple Charisma and Wisdom checks to manage social encounters, and I'm eager to see how they suggest running these.
Finally, it mentions that classic 1980s D&D characters return, including Warduke, Strongheart, and Kelek, about none of whom I have the faintest notion as to who they are.
Another note is that the adventure only goes from levels 1 to 8 - is there going to be a part two that takes players to higher levels, or are they just building this to be for low-level play?
Anyway, I'm sure we'll get more of an official look during D&D's annual "D&D Live" that continues tomorrow.
