New raid! Yes, we're finally setting Castle Nathria aside (or rather, coming back to WoW) and moving on to the raid portion of Torghast. As we enter this new raid, we encounter three boss fights that, refreshingly, all include previously-established characters (er... elements,) fighting the Tarragrue, the Eye of the Jailer, and "The Nine," which is primarily the three surviving Val'kyr of the group that bonded to Sylvanas after her suicidal leap from Icecrown Citadel.
The Tarragrue:
This fight gave the group the hardest time. As you clear the trash around his platform, you can find four massive tower/iron maiden-looking things, each of which will drop anima powers. One of the powers you can get gives you immunity to fear and stun effects - you want at least some of the raid to get this, though I'd honestly say it's not bad for everyone to grab it.
There are two big killer abilities here - one is a chain that he throws at a random raid member. This chain will stun the target and then drag them to him, where he'll do a lethal attack on them. However, if someone immune to stuns gets in front of the chain before it goes off, that'll cancel this. So I'd place a beacon on the floor where people with the chain debuff can run, and keep the boss in a consistent location to make it easier to block the chain.
The other big ability is that he'll occasionally cover the floor with black stuff that kills your FPS. There are four kind of spiky decorations on the inner circle on the flood, and one of these spiky regions will be safe (not covered in black stuff.) You want to just run to each of these to avoid the massive hit that anyone not there will get.
Also, he gets a nasty enrage that can be cleared by Druids, Hunters, and Rogues, which they absolutely should.
The Tarragrue is a big mountain of hit points. Near the end, he'll clear all your anima powers. Just burn him down as quick as you can.
The Eye of the Jailer:
This fight is a big step down in difficulty, but does require a bit of coordination. There are two phases. One phase one, you fight the Eye. There's a tank swap (as usual) and I believe that there's a chain thing that non-tanks need to soak. The big thing in phase one is that the Eye will sweep a big death laser in a slow circle. You'll need to use the chains on either end of the U-shaped platform to skip over the chasm to get away from this (or use something like Blink to get past it).
At 66% and 33%, the Eye will go away, and you'll get an eye on either side of the platform. I think you need to keep these apart, so you want to split the raid and kill the two add-eyes at the same time, as the survivor will pulse a lot of raid damage if the other dies.
Rinse and repeat, and this is done.
The Nine:
After a little scene with Bolvar and Sylvanas, you'll face two of the three surviving Val'kyr loyal to Sylvanas. One of them applies a stacking debuff on the tank while the other has a cast that should be interrupted. You can stack them up and cleave them down, and just have the tanks swap when the debuff falls off. There's a lot of crap on the floor to dodge, and sometimes you'll need to either run away from the bosses while being pulled in or run toward it when being pushed away.
When either of the first two get to 20% or so, the third val'kyr will arrive, so generally you want to try to burn them down at the same time to make sure that you can get rid of the original two bosses quickly. The third val'kyr will cause many of the other abilities to happen simultaneously, and occasionally creates a big zone in which she takes less damage, so tanks will want to move her out of it. She also has a tank-swap debuff. Once all the val'kyr are dead, you win.
And with that, the first wing of the Sanctum of Domination is done!
