Zandalar Forever

Oddly, what appears to be the equivalent to Kul Tiras' Pride of Kul Tiras chain doesn't actually require any dungeon runs, or even require you to be at the level cap (somehow my Shaman has finished all three zones and isn't even 119 yet - my Alliance DK just passed him to be my second 120 character.) It does unlock the King's Rest dungeon (something I just accomplished on my Alliance main, which requires getting to the second-to-last chapter in the War Campaign,) and maybe I've forgotten that there's more to that chain, but given the big cinematic moments within it, it seems to be complete.

SPOILERS AHOY

Whereas Kul Tiras ends with a unifying moment - Ashvane's coup is defeated, Jaina is (perhaps abruptly) made Lord Admiral, and the Kul Tiran fleet returns, along with Jaina's brother Tandred - Zandalar's story is an only slightly mitigated catastrophe.

While questing through Zandalar, we discover that there are three ancient Titan seals holding the Old God/Blood God thing G'huun trapped in Uldir. Both the seals in Nazmir and Vol'dun are broken, leaving only the Great Seal (literally right where the Horde is stationed below the throne room) holding G'huun.

We fail to prevent Jakrazet from releasing Mythrax, the massive C'thraxxi mosntrosity, in Vol'dun, and so when Zul instigates his coup, Mythrax marches on Dazar'alor.

With Rezan dead, Rastakhan does not have the strength to fight - in fact, he's very swiftly suffering the effects of his centuries of elongated life. So Rastkhan makes a deal - he pledges not only himself, but his entire bloodline, to Bwonsamdi, exalting the Loa of Death above all others, in exchange for the power needed to fight.

Rastakhan, newly invigorated by Bwonsamdi's blessing, leads the charge to re-take Dazar'alor, but even though he is able to slay Zul, he is not able to prevent Mythrax from destroying the seal.

And so, Rastakhan has preserved his position and his empire, but now the threat of G'huun has awakened and he'll need to dedicate his already very taxed resources in order to combat the greatest threat his empire has ever faced.

Of course, this gives the Horde a great opportunity to demonstrate their usefulness as allies, but it also means that they've got another great challenge to surmount before they can secure the aid of their new Zandalari allies.
