Warlords of Draenor Official Announcement

The next World of Warcraft expansion will be Warlords of Draenor.

WoD (or Warlords) will be set in the past, during the early days of the Horde. It appears the primary antagonists will be the eponymous warlords, likely including Grom Hellscream, Blackhand, Ner'zhul, and Gul'dan.

The expansion will be set in a past version of Outland, before it was destroyed. It appears that the Draenei will play a large part in the story as well.

The trailer includes footage of a huge siege of the Temple of Karabor, which used to look a hell of a lot nicer. The Horde apparently had Gronn fighting for them as living siege engines.

There will be no new class or race, but the old races are getting new models. Orcs and Dwarves were previewed (I couldn't tell if the Draenei had a new look.) The Orc models look similar to the 5.4 Garrosh model (unsurprisingly.)

The new level cap is 100, but there will apparently be some manner by which you can get a character to level 90 immediately.

There is some sort of "garrison-building" that will take place, though whether that is some kind of realm progress or a kind of character-housing remains a mystery.

Additionally, there will be new PvP zones (presumably akin to Wintergrasp and Tol Barad.)

Pre-Outland Draenor looks lush and has a kind of primal jungle-world feel to it.

I think we can expect Shadowmoon Valley to be one of the areas, and possibly Farahlon. There also appears to be a snowy mountain region (which I assume is the homeland of the Frostwolves.)

We'll be finding out a whole lot more during the dedicated "What's Next" panel at 12:30. I'll try to do a summary there.
