Starting on November 21st (one week after Warlords comes out) and continuing on until January 6th, the 10th Anniversary Celebration will be in effect. What is happening?
Three things:
First is the LFR Molten Core. This is a 40-player LFR raid of Molten Core, tuned for 100 (though I imagine very forgivingly.) Players who complete the raid will get an achievement as well as a unique Core Hount mount, plus an LFR-quality helmet guaranteed, which will use the cool Crown of Flame model.
Second is the Southshore vs. Tarren Mill battleground. This is an enormous (100 v 100, if I recall correctly) bg that is essentially a giant death match, with player gaining ranks as they get more kills, but then being worth more to those who kill them. Victors in the battleground will get the Tarren Mill Terror title if they are Alliance or the Southshore Slayer title if they are Horde.
Finally, all players, regardless of what they do, will get a Molten Corgi companion pet, who is of course an adorable little puppy made of magma.
So there you have it. We get a week of no pressure to level up, and then the event will continue on until early January, which should give most people time to get what they need out of it. I suspect that it won't be too hard to get everything out of it in a day, but I think it's wise that they've given a lot of time for people to catch up, or to compensate with the randomness of battleground victories.
