What Role Will Genn Greymane and Sylvanas Windrunner Play in Legion?

On the Legion website, there is a list of key characters, much as there was for Warlords. Intriguingly, in addition to some obvious figures (Gul'dan, Illidan, new characters tied to the Broken Isles) there are two faction leaders, Genn and Sylvanas, who are also listed.

Now, it's important not to read too much into this - after all, Velen and Maraad were listed as key figures in Warlords, and Velen was killed off after a single zone, while Maraad was killed off about halfway through the leveling experience, and there was nothing mentioned of Yrel, who really had the biggest role of any Draenei in the expansion.

Still, at the very least there could be something to it, perhaps with them playing a part in the leveling experience.

Sylvanas we already know will have things to do in Stormheim - the Stormheim Vrykul are connected to the Halls of Valor, which is where the original Val'kyr come from. Unlike the Scourge's undead Val'kyr who would sort out the worthy or unworthy Vrykul to be either Ymirjar or Var'gul, these Val'kyr come from long before the existence of the Scourge. Given that Sylvanas has now been brought back from the brink of eternal darkness twice by Val'kyr, but also that she has a limited number of them, she is desperate to replace the ones she has lost. And given the uncorrupted nature of these original Val'kyr (we assume,) it might be a more permanent solution than her current strategy of "being slightly less evil than the Scourge."

Given the direct rivalry between the Worgen and the Forsaken, Genn's role might be merely to play opposite number to Sylvanas - to try to prevent her from securing a way to proliferate her Forsaken or raise more un-Worgen-ified Gilneans to serve her.

On the other hand, I noticed that the Nightmare-infested areas in Val'sharah really look a lot like the Blackwald in Gilneas. I realize that the Druids of the Pack would probably be located in the part of the Emerald Dream that corresponds to the Blackwald (it's said more or less explicitly in the quests there,) but the Worgen are tied pretty darn directly to the story of the Emerald Dream. It would be cool if Genn tried to discover a way to better harness his people's curse by communing with the dream, rather than simply playing blue-team consolation prize to yet another Horde-driven plot line.

Really, just letting the Worgen do anything of note would be fantastic, and given that this is the fan-service expansion, it's the perfect time to do so!
